OsiriX HD is a high-quality DICOM software compatible with iOS. DICOM is the industry-standard digital format used for storing and transferring medical images. With OsiriX HD, users can not only download but also manipulate image series directly on their iOS device. The software is fully DICOM-compliant and can display images from all major imaging modalities, including ultrasound, CT scanner, MRI, PET, etc.
One of the notable features of OsiriX HD is its capability to receive images from any DICOM imaging device through WiFi/3G networks, making it a fully functional DICOM-compliant listener. It supports various DICOM Network protocols such as C-STORE SCP, C-MOVE SCU, C-FIND SCU, C-GET SCU, WADO, and DICOMweb.
In addition to its compatibility with various DICOM-compatible software and PACS, OsiriX HD supports secure and encrypted communication through the iOS built-in VPN. This ensures user privacy and data security.
OsiriX HD provides users with fast and interactive image manipulation tools such as zoom, pan, cine playback, and contrast adjustment through its convenient multipoint touch screen interface. These features make it an excellent tool for medical professionals in various specialties, including teleradiology.
This iOS application can also serve as a helper app for other iOS applications. It allows users to read DICOM datasets received by email or in Safari, as well as visualize DICOM datasets stored in a Dropbox folder. Furthermore, OsiriX HD supports a built-in URL scheme protocol (osirix://) for easy integration into RIS, HIS, or PACS environments.
